In 2022, our team made the decision to incorporate as a Federal Non-Profit Organisation. We felt this best aligned with our future goals for providing effective and accessible SciComm training for graduate students.

Q: What does this mean for ComSciConCAN and your other conferences?

We get to make the most out of your donations! As a federal non-profit, we do not pay income tax on the donations you provide, meaning we have more money to subsidise the costs of our conferences. You support helps cover the costs of travel and accommodation for our attendees, along with with food, tech and room rental costs associated with putting on the conferences. All of our directors, managers and organisers are volunteers, meaning your donations do not go towards paying us.
Other than being able to make our conferences better through additional funding, ComSciConCAN will be the same as it has in the past, and we will continue to provide the best scientific communication training for graduate students in the country (in our opinion)!
